BEHIND THE SCENES

21 year-old, Los Angeles native Kenji Swanson is a Stanford University undergraduate student majoring in Art History with a minor in Film and Media Studies. Before diving into the art world, Kenji was a nationally ranked Division 1 collegiate football athlete; a truly unique experience that instilled in him valuable lessons in leadership, teamwork, perseverance and qualities that have shaped his thoughtful and effective approach to the world of art.

Kenji has become deeply involved in the art world as both an art dealer and curator. He currently works as Associate Director at Strike-Slip Gallery in San Francisco's vibrant Mission District where he curates numerous exhibitions featuring a diverse range of multidisciplinary artists. Kenji’s work and work ethic are driven by his unwavering commitment to elevate the art scene by fostering a thriving community for artists.

As an art dealer, Kenji is dedicated to connecting local artists with global collectors, bridging the gap between emerging talent and the broader art market while sharing artists’ exceptional work with the world. To that end, Kenji plans to eventually open his own galleries, establish artists residency programs, take on directorial roles and support talented, yet often overlooked artists from around the globe.

Kenji Swanson is also a skilled photographer who documents his life experiences through the lens, using his camera to tell compelling visual stories that reflect his unique and exciting journey.
