"SOUL" ART EXHIBITION
SOUL is the latest curated art exhibition by Kenji Swanson, honoring Black artistry, ancestry, and culture in celebration of Black History Month, February exhibition SOUL showcases the works of six acclaimed Black artists—Travion Payne, Dominique Birdsong, André Renay, Paperbag, Solomon Rousseau, and SECA Award winner & SF MoMA exhibiting artist Angela Hennessy.

More than an exhibition, SOUL is a tribute to the journeys of our ancestors and the legacies they entrusted to us. Through powerful rhythms, vivid colors, and resonant voices, this collection of art amplifies a culture that is unapologetically bold, richly layered, and profoundly alive. It is a call to honor the past, celebrate the present, and shape the future.

Through SOUL, Kenji aims to continue giving diverse artists around the country and world a platform and opportunity to profoundly express their life stories and experiences through art.

"A LIFE WORTH LIVING" ART EXHIBITION
"A Life Worth Living" is an art exhibition that I recently curated, featuring the incredible works of two exceptionally talented Black contemporary artists, Los Angeles based Solo The Artist and Houston artist, Paperbag. This exhibition is a vibrant celebration of life, focusing on the daily blessings and opportunities that we often overlook.

As an art curator, Kenji is deeply committed to showcasing art that carries profound meaning and resonates with audiences on a personal level. In "A Life Worth Living," Kenji sought to bring together artists whose work not only reflects these values but also challenges viewers to see the world from a renewed perspective. It’s important to him that every visitor left this exhibition feeling inspired, with a deeper appreciation for the everyday moments that make life truly worth living.

In a world that often feels chaotic, "A Life Worth Living" serves as a reminder of the beauty and significance of life’s journey. It’s about recognizing that every day is a new opportunity—a blessing—that should be cherished. Through this exhibition, Kenji aims to create an experience that lingers in the minds and hearts of the audience, encouraging them to carry forward the exhibition’s message long after they’ve left the gallery space.
SOLO x PAPERBAG ART CONVERSATIONAL
Continuing Kenji's "A Life Worth Living" exhibition, this conversational video features a thought provoking conversation between Solo The Artist and Paperbag. Filmed in the art studio of artist Jimmy McCaffery, the two talented artists discuss the inspirations behind their collaborative works, share their journeys and stories as they delve into how life lessons, pivotal moments, and the significance of Black art has shaped their distinct artistic styles and creative expressions. This intimate dialogue offers a deeper understanding of the exhibition's themes, revealing the powerful messages woven into their art.

CHARITY ART AUCTION
At San Francisco's Strike Slip Gallery, Kenji had the honor of facilitating a unique and special event in collaboration with Bay Area charity, Us 4 Us. Nearly 200 artists from across the Bay Area created artworks on brown paper grocery bags, which were displayed for a charity auction where guests could bid on their favorite pieces.

As a curator, Kenji's goal is to inspire, connect, and create opportunities for artists. This event was a step toward that vision, blending artistry with community impact for a greater cause.

During the Us 4 Us charity auction event, meaningful funds were raised for local children and community initiatives but also celebrated unity, creativity, and collaboration. It embodied Kenji's mission to elevate artists, help them gain global recognition while simultaneously fostering meaningful connections within our local communities.
